On Jan. 19 he went down with a sprained ankle that was beyond his control, a grade 3 sprain with a bone bruise that ultimately has shut him down for the season.

That goal will remain the same regardless of which organization he plays for after Ball's name was featured heavily in trade rumors ahead of February's deadline.

"I'm very, very motivated", said Ball.

"At the end of the day, you can only control the things that you can control", Ball told The Athletic's Shams Charania. I'm looking forward to this summer. I have to keep working on my craft.

He added that he's not anxious about potentially getting traded in the offseason.

The Lakers (31-36) are now seven games back of Beverley's eighth seeded Los Angeles Clippers with just 15 games remaining in the regular season.
