A plane crashed in front of a auto on a busy road and it was caught on dash camera, CTV reports. 401 where the dash camera video was taken.

From seemingly out of nowhere, the small plane swoops into the frame, narrowly missing a vehicle travelling on 16th Ave., near Hwy.

"That [the] aircraft wasn't involved in a collision with a vehicle coming through here is quite fantastic", York Regional Police Sgt. Dave Mitchell told CTV Toronto.

Dave Mitchell says it's shocking that no vehicles were hit by the plane.

A single-engine plane lost control after taking off at Buttonville Airport around 2 p.m. Tuesday.

The plane was reportedly practising touch and go on runway 33 when it crashed. The plane did not rise fast enough, crashing through a fence before coming to a stop across the street.

According to Podolec, the passengers included a male instructor pilot and female student.

Both walked away unharmed as did motorists on the road.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) is investigating a small aircraft crash in Markham. "It's an easy way to get a bunch of takeoffs and landings in if you are doing some training. A standard manoeuvre... but in this case something went wrong".

"A plane is down and we have locked down the area, so it will affect traffic flow", said a YRP spokesperson.

Investigators are trying to figure out why the plane did not gain altitude, leading to a very close call.
