It's not coming out today.

With Apex Legends proving so popular, fans have been searching through the game files every time a new update is released.

Respawn will be "providing details on Season 1, Battle Pass, and the next Legend very soon", though encourage everyone to treat the rumours they're reading as exactly that.

The 27-year-old, famous for his hair color changes - now a bright, turquoise hue - tweeted about the free-to-play game early on February 5 and streamed the action to his more than 13 million followers on game-streaming site Twitch.

The unintentional update on the Origin page he's refrencing was posted by user Spliddo on Reddit. Respawn, however, took some to clarify that while they have worked on the things that have been leaked, finding it does not mean that any of it will ever come out as it may just be old ideas or stuff they worked on and chose to cut.

Rumours have been churning around data-mined discoveries in Apex Legends, only to be quashed last night by developers Respawn Entertainment.

Apex Legends is a really good game that seemed to come out of nowhere: One minute we're speculating about a Titanfall battle royale, and the next it draws 2.5 million players in its very first day.

The promotional relationship wasn't a secret-his stream was labeled as an "Apex Legends partner"-but the amount involved is staggering, particularly given that the report suggests that it was exclusively for launch day". Finding this stuff by no means confirms that it'll ever come out.

Thank you to everyone for staying patient through this and hang tight.

One thing we can be nearly certain of is that Season 1 will coincide with the release of a brand new Legend called Octane. Octane is also said to regenerate health when not in battle.
