Charlotte Russe Closing All Stores; Liquidation Sales Under Way

Just a month after filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, retailer Charlotte Russe has announced they will close all stores and the company has officially closed its online store as well. On Wednesday, a judge approved the sale of Charlotte Russe's assets to a liquidation company.

When the bankruptcy filing was announced on February 5, the company said it planned to close 100 of its 500 stores.

Charlotte Russe has one location in Topeka, inside the West Ridge Mall, and four other locations in the Kansas City Metro Area.

A major women's clothing retailer will be closing all of its stores including its St. Cloud location.

USA Today reports Charlotte Russe is in talks to sell the company's intellectual property and may continue a brick-and-mortar presence in the future, but it won't continue operating any of its current stores. Court documents say store liquidation sales "shall commence no later than March 7" and end "no later than April 30". "All stores. All sales final". The stores are located primarily in malls and outlet centers. The company has more than 8,700 employees, USA Today reported.
