16-inch MacBook Pro coming

Finally, Kuo believes that the Apple Watch's ECG capability will come to additional countries in 2019 and that Apple will unveil a new ceramic case option.

Issued over the weekend by noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, his research note runs down some of his hardware expectations for the coming year. Given some of the limitations of the trashcan Mac Pro, Apple in recent years conceded that the design itself may not have been as forward-thinking as the company initially intended. Heck, there's even a new iPod on the cards!

Moving along to the Mac side of things, Kuo's note reveals some interesting tidbits Apple has in store for its MacBook Pro line. These include a 16-inch MacBook Pro, a 31-inch 6K display, and the new iPhones and iPads. The 15-inch MacBook Pro can already be configured with that hefty amount of system memory, having got the option with the introduction of last year's range. He additionally notes that we will see an "all-new design" for the laptop. While he doesn't offer any specifics, he does suggest that Apple will be creating an epic 31.6-inch "6k3k" display.

Apple will launch a ton of new gear this year, a new report claims.

Kuo also speculates that Apple will release 5.8-inch OLED, 6.1-inch LCD, and 6.5-inch iPhones with triple-cameras and an upgraded battery later this year. These upcoming iPhone models will support wireless charging of other devices. Face ID is likely to get better recognition, too.

Also, the 2019 iPhone models will come with ultra-wide band connectivity for improved indoor positioning and navigation. The latter was available on the Watch 3, but Apple skipped it on the latest model.

If Kuo's report is accurate, it's going to be an exciting year for Apple fans - especially professionals, many of which are now having a hard time finding suitable hardware in Apple's store.
