Ubisoft and Mozilla Join Teams to Spot New Bugs

While Mozilla's Firefox web browser is open-source and used by many people, Clever-Commit isn't.

One of the greatest game developer Ubisoft and one of the best web browsers Mozilla presently declared that they both have made a partnership to develop Clever-Commit, an AI (Artificial intelligence) -based coding assistant that studies from your code base's bug and return to a former data to examine and raise potential new bugs as new code is committed.

Clever-Commit was first introduced to the world as a prototype named Commit-Assistant past year by Ubisoft Montreal's research lab, Ubisoft La Forge, in collaboration with Concordia University. The AI-based coding assistant analyzes code written by a developer and uses bug and regression data from the code's base to search for new bugs which could emerge in the code. Mozilla's three-year long partnership with the France-based gaming giant sees both parties pool their resources to improve the AI coding assistant. Using this tech in our games and Firefox will allow developers to be more productive, since they can spend more time creating the next feature rather than fixing bugs. This allows us to address bugs at a stage when fixing a bug is a lot cheaper and less time-consuming, than upon release. When we make an update, or add a new feature the experience should be as seamless and smooth as possible for the user.

Additionally, Mozilla will contribute to the assistant by helping expand its capabilities in Rust, C++ and JavaScript programming languages as well as in C++ code analysis and other bug tracking systems. "As there is no ideas or plans for Clever-Commit to be open sourced platform right now". Once a fault has been detected, the team is alerted and even provided with suggested fixes to speed the process up. "We will initially use the tool amid the code review phase, and if conclusive, at other stages of the code-writing process, specifically during automation".

Considering Mozilla releases a Firefox update every "6 to 8 weeks", this is sure to take a load off the engineering team when the newly dubbed Clever-Commit is fully integrated into the code writing process.
