Naomi Osaka splits with coach two weeks after second Grand Slam title

The news comes just three weeks since Osaka's successful run to her second straight major title at the Australian Open, which launched her to World No.1.

"Hey everyone, I will no longer be working together with Sascha", Osaka wrote. "I thank him for his work and wish him all the best in the future".

The 34-year-old German coach spent eight years as Serena Williams' hitting partner, before spending a short stint with Caroline Wozniacki prior to his involvement with Osaka.

Under Bajin, Osaka rose from world number 72 at the start of the 2018 to the summit of the rankings little over a year later.
