Serbia will face hosts Great Britain in Saturday's promotion play-off after British No.1 Johanna Konta came through a three-set thriller against Hungary's Anna Bondar.

After Katie Boulter's success, Konta's triumph sealed a 2-0 win against Hungary to ensure that Britain finish top of pool A.

The winners of Saturday's play-off in the Fed Cup Europe/Africa Zone Group 1 will win a place in the World Group II play-off in April.

"I think I was just trying to breathe", she said. That was just another incredible match after Katie's. "It is another opportunity we have given ourselves and we will go into tomorrow and put it all out there like we have done so far".

The British number two, who also won the opening rubber in GB's previous two victorious ties this week, edged a tense encounter with Dalma Galfi 6-4 6-7 (5) 7-6 (1) to put GB 1-0 up in the best-of-three clash.

Having beaten Greece on Thursday after seeng off Slovenia on Wednesday in their first home tie in the tournament for 26 years, GB looked to be cruising when Boulter moved 5-1 in front before surviving a fightback to take the first set 6-4.
