Fallout 76 bug teleports players inside of locked vault

At this point, glitches and Fallout 76 are something akin to peanut butter and jelly - a pairing so common that it's odd to think of one without the other. Other players in the Reddit thread have been through the same thing, with the game spawning them inside the vault at the start of an event, and the only way to leave is to fast travel out. Once inside, their group was trapped, and had to fast travel to get out, but they had a poke around while they were inside.

When Bethesda teased upcoming new content for Fallout 76, one of the things they mentioned was "new vaults opening", suggesting that some of the game's vaults (which are now sealed) might be major areas in future content updates.

A Reddit user who goes by McStaken apparently "entered the vault accidentally while doing a Rad-Rat Horde event". That wasn't a completely unfounded fear, since Bethesda recently banned players who gained access to Fallout 76's hidden dev room and its unreleased items.

Anxious that they might be banned for entering an inaccessible area, they tweeted Bethesda and submitted a ticket.

While we all wait for the vault to officially open, programming errors like these mean we can still enjoy videos and screenshots of the areas in their still-unfinished states. Bethesda told Polygon that McStaken "shouldn't have to worry about a ban" because they weren't abusing an exploit to get into Vault 63.

After almost a day of waiting a Bethesda Community Manager saw the post and stated that they "have shared [the info] with the team".

In any case, Bethesda community manager Jessica Finster responded to McStaken's post to clarify that "these Vaults are still under construction, but we look forward to sharing more on how they will become part of the game".
