Scholes set to be appointed boss of League Two side Oldham

Paul Scholes has been named manager of League Two club Oldham Athletic.

Scholes, 44, is due to be unveiled at a press conference at Boundary Park on Monday afternoon.

The 44-year old has 10% shares at Salford and this appeared to jeopardize the future of his new managerial job.

According to BBC, EFL laws frown at anyone with dual roles with two clubs at the same time without the prior consent of the board.

The former Manchester United and England midfielder has agreed to take his make his managerial bow at the League Two club.

Academy head coach Pete Wild has been in caretaker charge at the Latics since Frankie Bunn's sacking on 27 December.

The Latics, whose 3-0 win at Crawley on Saturday was their first in the league since New Year's Day, are 14th in League Two and now nine points off the play-off places.
