She of course brought up his beard and how long he planned to keep it. Edelman said he wasn't sure - the king of T-shirts, Edelman has been selling ones with "MVP" carved into into his beard on his website - and that he was "feeling it out". Ellen eventually got Edelman to agree to the beard shaving by saying she would donate $10,000 to the Boys & Girls Club if he let her break out the razor. After the briefest of hesitations, because after all "It's kind of grown on me", Edelman agreed to the deal, and threw in his own $10,000 donation.

And the play wasn't even in the New England Patriots' playbook to start the game.

"I love you, beard", Edelman said.

The New England Patriots did things a little differently during the only scoring drive of Super Bowl LIII.

Boston's first couple have been celebrating the Patriots' Super Bowl win over the Los Angeles Rams.

"Hey well, uh, you're a hell of a football player", Edelman told NBC's Peter King about his draft-day phone call with Belichick.

Given the fact that this past season was a "down" year for Tom Brady and company, them winning Super Bowl 53 proves that they can reach this game yet again next season.

Hopefully someone touched up the shave Ellen gave him before he left the studio.
