We didn't have to wait for March Madness to get the wildest buzzer-beater of the 2018-19 college basketball season, thanks to Missouri State.

The ball banked in and Missouri State won 66-65. He rushed to turn, only to have the ball slip out of his hands and bounce towards half-court, resulting in a mad-dash scramble that tied up both teams. The tight-knit battle ended in absurd fashion.

Missouri State earned a win over Illinois State in an unbelievable way Sunday. From half-court and less than a second left in the game, Dixon heaved a shot and sunk the ball in the net off the backboard.

However, something unusual and lovely happened in the final seconds of an otherwise anonymous game, with Missouri State senior Jarred Dixon converting a wild buzzer-beater from halfcourt to secure the victory.

Illinois State held a two-point lead and had possession with 7.8 seconds to play. Everything in the MVC will come down to the conference tournament.
