And Jackman became an EGT last night (10 February) as he was honoured with the rest of the cast and crew of The Greatest Showman with the Grammy for Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media.

The Grammys are now in full swing and Hugh Jackman is among the list of winners.

Now that he has a Grammy under his belt, all he needs is an Oscar.

'Because it was a soundtrack it didn't fit into any obvious awards categories, but it has been the biggest thing in music for years so they had to acknowledge it somehow, ' an industry source told The Sun.

Hugh portrayed P. T. Barnum in The Greatest Showman, which was released in late 2017, alongside the likes of Michelle Williams, Zac Efron and Zendaya.

While Jackman celebrated the win as a victory for the entire The Greatest Showman team, it's a major milestone for the actor. His Tony came only the year before in 2004 for his portrayal of singer-songwriter Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz.

The 50-year-old will have to wait until at least next year's Academy Awards before he can realise his dream of becoming an EGOT, as he is not nominated for an Oscar this year.

He has been nominated for an Oscar once - in 2013 for best actor for his work in Les Miserables.
