If you are unsure of your family's immunization status, you can view, download and print your family's immunization information online at wa.MyIR.net or request a copy of your immunization record from the Washington State Department of Health. The DOH declared a measles outbreak in these regions last week. "The immediate workplace has been notified and places where that person may have went, but the infectious period has passed in that particular case, and there is only one confirmed case".

The CDC insists the two-dose measles vaccine is safe and 97 percent effective.

"I don't feel I'm putting my child at risk", mother Monique Murray told CBS News. "There's nothing that's going to change my mind on this on that specific vaccination".

At the same time, 2018 followed a year in which Europe achieved its highest-ever coverage for the second dose of measles vaccination at the national level, showing that gaps at subnational levels are to blame for the disease's resurfacing. In Italy, where the current governing coalition had pledged to drop a law banning children without vaccination from starting pre-school (the coalition has since reversed its position), health officials have declared a 'measles emergency, ' as nearly one quarter of all measles cases in Europe in 2017 were reported in Italy. Health officials have reported at least 52 known cases in the state.

Almost all of the measles cases have been diagnosed in patients who were never vaccinated against the virus. It's an incredibly serious disease that can have a lot of complications, and we've already had one child hospitalized out of the cases here.

It is also highly contagious.

The virus spreads through the air and can linger for up to two hours in an isolated space.

Clark County Public Health has been regularly updating its list of locations where people may have been exposed to measles.

As the Daily Beast reported this week, measles can also trigger subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE), a form of chronic brain inflammation that is nearly invariably fatal.

An estimated 700 people, a lot of them opposed to stricter requirements, lined up before dawn in the cold, toting strollers and hand-lettered signs, to sit in the hearing, which was so crowded that staff opened up additional rooms to accommodate the crowd.

"The causes of measles outbreak involved a number of factors or elements".
