As promised, Will Smith has granted fans' wishes and been transformed into a blue hue for Aladdin.

An extended look at the live-action iteration of Disney's "Aladdin" aired during Sunday night's Grammy Awards, and it's shining, shimmering, splendid! The film stars Will Smith as the Genie; Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia; Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim. Could Will Smith end up providing a performance just as good as the original?

Though a still released a year ago showed Smith in his Genie outfit, he didn't look almost enough like his cartoon counterpart.

An earlier teaser, showing Massoud but not Smith, was released in the fall.

In the EW article, Ritchie described Smith's transformed look as "a muscular 1970s dad. He was big enough to feel like a force - not so muscular that he looked like he was counting his calories, but formidable enough to look like you knew when he was in the room". "He brings his own style and hip hop flavor to it".

Aladdin opens on May 23 in Australia and May 24 in the U.S. and UK.
