Baldur’s Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape, and More Coming to Console

A whole slew of classic action RPGs are coming to consoles in the near future. Skybound is currently the owners of the now defunct Telltale Games The Walking Dead, which they acquired in October of 2018, and has helped with the publishing of a number of independent games, including Slime Rancher by Monomi Park, The Long Dark by Hinterland, and Death's Gambit with White Rabbit and Adult Swim Games. We look forward to seeing a physical release of these classics. While the Enhanced Editions would find their way to mobile devices as well as PCs, they never landed on consoles - something publisher Skybound Games is looking to change this year with an agreement to publish the games on as-yet unspecified console platforms.

Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition, Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition (along with its 2016 expansion Siege of Dragonspear), Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Neverwinter Nights have all been announced for a 2019 release on Switch and other console platforms. "As longtime fans of Baldur's Gate and Dungeons & Dragons it's fantastic to partner with Beamdog as the newest member of the Skybound family".

Beamdog is known for bringing enhanced versions of Dungeons & Dragons videogames to fans both new and old on the PC platform, including the critically acclaimed Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights and Planescape: Torment.

Read the full press announcement on the SkyBound Games site. Today, Baldur's Gate is a series of role-playing games set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.

Well this is a news article that we never saw coming.

More information is to come in the following months about their specific release dates and box contents.
