And The Yorkshire Evening Post say they have finally found their man and that Casilla will fly to England for a medical early next week.

Casilla is a one-cap Spanish global and was part of the Real Madrid squads which won the Champions League three time in succession.

It is understood the Whites are prepared to buy the Spaniard on a permanent basis despite the fact he's still got 18 months left on his deal at the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid's third-choice keeper Kiko Casilla is a rumoured transfer target for Championship leaders Leeds United.

Bielsa was said to be lining up a move for Newcastle's Karl Darlow but was reportedly put off by the club's £4million asking price.

Marcelo Bielsa's influence is set to come into full effect with the club's first January addition and landing the Real Madrid ace could be another giant stride towards promotion. He returned to the Bernabeu in 2015 for a fee of more than £5m. There is an expecatation that the goalkeeper could be available for selection in Leeds' next game against Stoke on 19 January.

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell has occupied the number one jersey at Elland Road so far this season, but the 22-year-old has been inconsistent at times.

Confirmation of a new keeper will turn United's focus to the acquisition of a new winger and a new attacking midfielder, two positions which the club identified for strengthening before the window opened.
