"I have had good conversations with Tottenham", he said.

Most recently, Los Blancos slipped to a shock 2-0 defeat at home to Real Sociedad, with Santiago Solari considering a move for Spurs ace Eriksen in a bid to fix his side's ongoing problems.

It is believed that the LaLiga outfit were in contact with Spurs in recent months over possible transfer for next season.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has slapped a whopping 250 million euro (£250m) asking price on the head of Christian Eriksen amid interest from Real Madrid, as per Spanish outlet AS.

Eriksen will be out of contract in 2020, with Spurs considering letting his contract run down as talks over a new deal continue.

"Of course Christian Eriksen is so important for us and you would like to have this kind of player with you".

Madrid have been mooted as a potentially interested party, though, with Eriksen telling TV3 Sport that Spurs "know what I want" in relation to the talks over a new deal.

Like Eriksen, the Belgian global is tied down until 2020, and could look for a new challenge having been at the club since 2012. "If not, it's his right to do what he wants to do". But Eriksen, at 26, isn't that anxious about the economics but more the chance to take a step up to a club that could define his career, like Real Madrid.
