According to the updated rankings put out by AIBA, Mary Kom is placed on top of the charts in the weight division with 1700 points.

Kom capped her 2018 campaign with her sixth world championship title after defeating Ukraine's Hanna Okhota by 5-0 in Delhi. The 36-year-old will have to reach the mark of 51 kg if she is having an eye on the 2020 Olympics, because 48 kg category is not included in the games of the Olympics. She recently proved herself to be the best in the world by claiming the 48 kg category top honours in November a year ago.

She went on to win gold in each of the next five world championships.

Kom, who was the subject of a Bollywood film in 2014, won bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

Former World Championship silver medallist Sonia Lather finds herself in second spot in the 57 kg division despite enduring a disappointing 2018, which saw her finish outside the medals at the Asian Games. World bronze-medallist Simranjit Kaur took the fourth position in the 64 kg category. Former world champion L Sarita Devi followed her at the 16th spot. The men's rankings have not been d yet. Her father even tried to discourage her when he found out.

For her feats, she had earlier been declared the best pugilist of the 10th Women's World Boxing Championships by the International Boxing Association (AIBA).
