"Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink".

An outspoken Christian, actor Chris Pratt took to Instagram this week to tell his followers that he is doing the Daniel Fast.

Those who do the fast generally do it for 21 days, the idea being that by limiting their intake of meat, alcohol and other fun stuff, their bodies are cleansed and their connection to spirituality strengthened.

According to the fast's website "it's a biblically based partial fast based on two accounts of the Prophet Daniel's fasting experiences (seed Daniel 1 and 10) and typical Jewish fasting principles". Back in December, he also tried intermittent fasting. "Day Three of the Daniel Fast, check it out", he said in a recent Instagram story, alongside a video of him looking like sweaty mess post-workout.

The site says that entering into "a period of extended prayer and fasting is like pushing the "pause button" on life so you can draw nearer to God".

Participants are restricted to drinking only water and eating only foods that have grown from seeds, like fruits, vegetables and grains.

Alas, don't expect that Chris Pratt dad bod to be around for long, as the actor is apparently on something called the "Daniel Fast". "That's my thing. I like it".

He recently took an opportunity to regale fans with his faith at the MTV Movie Awards. God loves you. God wants the best for you.

For number eight, he said: "Learn to pray. It's easy and it's so good for your soul".
