Lockie Ferguson double strike ends Sri Lanka’s chase in only T20

The best thing about New Zealand has been that most of their players have chipped in and it has been a true team effort.

Sri Lanka, ranked four spots below their hosts in the World T20 rankings in ninth, have yet to win a match on their tour of New Zealand having lost both the Test and ODI series. Although the side has performed decently, they have failed to register a win.

New Zealand have added spinner Mitchell Santner to their squad who is making a comeback after a knee injury.

New Zealand sealed the one-day global series in style by winning the third match in Nelson for the clean sweep and they will now move to the shortest format of the game as they look to win the sole T20 match to finish the tour with Sri Lanka. Lasith Malinga's length-variations in the opening over saw the back of dangerman Martin Guptill, whose short-arm pull resulted in a thick top-edge to mid on.
