Jerry Stiller, 91, rushed to hospital for medical emergency

Ben Stiller's 91-year-old dad, Jerry Stiller, was rushed to a Manhattan hospital on Wednesday after suffering stroke-like symptoms, multiple news outlets report.

Stiller's family was with him Wednesday night, the source added.

"He is doing well and will be home this weekend", a family friend tells PEOPLE of his health.

Stiller is now under observation.

'There are no signs of a stroke. He's totally fine, ' a source told the Daily News.

Stiller experienced a resurgence in fame through recurring roles in Seinfeld and The King of Queens (on which his wife had a guest starring role) for all of its nine seasons.

Stiller - the father of Ben - may be best known to modern audiences for playing George Costanza's cranky father Frank in Seinfeld.

Jerry formed a successful comedy duo, Stiller and Meara, with his wife Anna in the 60s and 70s. Following their career on variety shows, the couple forged a radio commercial career, notably the campaign for Blue Nun wine.

The pair also shared a daughter, actress Amy Stiller.
