CBS will be closing the case on Criminal Minds for the last time.

Now, before you freak out, you know that the team will have a chance to say goodbye, as Criminal Minds will end with Season 15 next season, TV Guide has learned.

The show is now in the middle of its 14th season and the final season will air during the 2019-20 season. "We are so proud to have aired it", said Amy Reisenbach, CBS' EVP current programs.

Criminal Minds is now more than halfway through Season 14, which is supposed to end on a much happier note than Season 15's ominous beginning: Rossi (Joe Mantegna) is heading down the aisle. "It's been successful not only on air but online, in syndication, internationally for ABC (Studios)".

Criminal Minds is now shooting its 15-episode 14th season, and will stay in production to complete the remaining episodes.

Criminal Minds' Season 14 finale airs Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 10/9c on CBS.

Season 15 could also bring back fan-favorites who have since left the series, potentially including Shemar Moore, who now headlines CBS' S.W.A.T. and has since returned in a guest capacity.

The decision to give the series a final season run, despite a serious decline the ratings, came in late fall when executive producer Erica Messer was breaking the stories for the final episodes of Season 14. The studios and CBS chose to allow the show to have a proper ending that would satisfy fans. "But they respect this series and the cast and the crew and the fans enough to end this properly". The final season will consist of 10 episodes.

By the time the show wraps, it will have produced 325 episodes, which makes it one of the top 20 longest-running shows of all time.
