Should they decide to accept the bid, Hudson-Odoi would rank as the third biggest signing in Bayern's history, after Javi Martinez and Corentin Tolisso.

Indeed, Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic made clear that the club are interested in signing Hudson-Odoi, confirming to reporters on Wednesday that he is on their list of January targets. "We've played with each other at England".

"Me and Callum are close friends", said Sancho, speaking from Dortmund's winter training camp in Marbella. He's very good, very talented, fast and good dribbling skills.

"I have told him the Bundesliga is a nice league".

Chelsea remain desperate to keep Hudson-Odoi, and head coach Maurizio Sarri's surprise decision to start him against Tottenham in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semifinal on Tuesday was part of a broader club effort aimed at convincing the winger that his future lies at Stamford Bridge.

Hudson-Odoi provided both assists in the recent 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup but Sarri conceded first-team opportunities might still be limited due to the attacking options at his disposal.

"I know only that for me he is a very important player".

"I am happy with the player because is improving, improving a lot in the defensive phase".

"He's the next one I would say".

'Now he needs to improve in some movements without the ball but he is working very well at the moment so I am very happy with the player and would like to have him in the future'.

Sarri, who celebrated his 60th birthday on Thursday, said he recommended Chelsea need to recruit two players, but declined to say their positions. You want Willian on the bench?

'I see in him a really good player who would certainly be a good face to join us'.
