Frank Castle is back for another round of morally gray murder in Season 2 of Netflix's The Punisher, and based on the above trailer, not much has changed. "He thinks he has the right to judge me", adds Castle's former friend and betrayer who was left for near dead with his face smashed in glass last season.

In addition to an extended look at Ben Barnes' take on the villain Jigsaw, we also got our first look at John Pilgrim (Josh Stewart), a religious fundamentalist who appears to team up with Jigsaw in an attempt to bring down Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), aka the Punisher, aka our hero, aka but maybe not because he's pretty messed up.

Curtis Hoyle warns Frank about Russo's return and states the obvious that "people are gonna die".

Annette O'Toole and Corbin Bernsen are also joining the show as Eliza and Anderson Schultz, respectively.

The Punisher Season 2 bursts onto Netflix on January 18.

As we await the new season and the third season of that other remaining Marvel series on the streamer Jessica Jones, no word if they'll be a Season 3 of The Punisher down the line. Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) serves as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

Or as Benthal's Punisher says ominously in the trailer above, "Let me be what I'm meant to be".
