Earlier this year (18), Simmons was hit by a $10 million (£7.8 million) lawsuit by a woman, who filed under the name Jane Doe, over an alleged rape in 1988 that took place in an hotel room after she attended a concert with her son.

The woman, who hasn't been identified, alleged in court documents first obtained by the Blast that Simmons assaulted her at the opening of one of his Rock & Brews restaurants, where she was reportedly working as a dishwasher.

She said she agreed to take a photo with Simmons when he came into the kitchen but alleged that he "reached over and forcefully placed his hand on her vagina, completely covering it". In July 2018, the musician settled a lawsuit brought against him in 2017 by a woman who claimed that he had groped her and made inappropriate comments about her body during the December 2017 opening of his Rock & Brews eatery in San Bernardino, California.

She is seeking a jury trial and unspecified damages.

When the accusations began to spread late a year ago, Simmons stepped down from all his leadership positions and began to sell off his assets in NY and Los Angeles, while claiming that his accusers were lying for "purposes of publicity".

The father-of-two broke the news on Instagram, sharing a picture from his childhood. My mentor. My moral compass. No illness. No pain.

'And I urge all of you, to run over, put your arms around your mother, kiss her and tell her how much you love her. "Do this every day!"
