"It's amusing, I was looking at his stats the last five games, we won five in a row, he was averaging 12 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, but his field goal percentage, three-point percentage are not what we expect from Nikola". The Nuggets closed the quarter with a 9-2 run to take a 27-24 advantage into the second. The Raptors couldn't buy a three-point basket in the early going, shooting a combined 3-for-22 in the first half.

Toronto's awful three-point shooting continued in the second - Miles connected on the only one of 10 that fell for the Raptors.

Jokic replied with a hook shot, then on Toronto's final frantic possession, Danny Green missed on two three-point attempts. A Leonard jumper with 54 seconds remaining made the score 101-100 in favor of Toronto and gave the Raptors their first lead of the second half.

Clawing their way back from a 12-point deficit, a fadeaway shot by Leonard tied the game with 7.1 seconds on the clock.

In New Orleans, Tobias Harris made two clutch free throws with 4.7 seconds left to close out a 27-point performance, and Los Angeles held off the Pelicans. Jokic would do just that and Kyle Lowry would miss a three at the buzzer to give the Nuggets a big 106-103 victory over Toronto.

Jokic had 23 points, 15 assists and 11 rebounds, Jamal Murray scored 21 points, and Malik Beasley and Juan Hernangomez each scored 15 points for Denver.

Denver was definitely the better team for the majority of the night.

The Nuggets (16-7 and first in the Northwest Division) will be back in action on Wednesday night when they'll travel to Orlando for a match-up against the Magic. This will be the second time Denver has faced the Magic this season as the Nuggets picked up a 112-87 victory in the two teams first matchup.
