Kevin Durant offers rare hint on future: It's 'toxic' around LeBron James

Everyone wants him to leave, and by doing this it makes it sound as if joining the Lakers with LeBron would be a bad situation for any superstar.

"Why doesn't anyone want to play with LeBron anymore?"

While Durant's theory certainly makes sense, we won't know if it holds true until next offseason with Kawhi Leonard set to test the open market next winter.

"Kevin Love, he had to totally change his game to fit, to be a shooter", Durant said.

There have been a lot of rumors that the big-name free agent the Lakers are searching for this summer could end up being Kevin Durant. He likes the city. Again, I haven't read the article so I can't comment on that, but what you're asking me, to me the question is, why would you not want to play with LeBron?

"No, for what? I'm past the [taking things] personal stage", James said after the game.

"He really likes it here and is enjoying his time with a new team, his teammates in the locker room and the head coach Nick Nurse is allowing to do so many things more and drawing up plays for him".

Durant said playing with the King can be "toxic" but he didn't blame James.

In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Durant discussed the challenges associated with playing with James.

"So much hype comes from being around LeBron from other people, [.] He has so many fanboys in the media".

The reality is they will only get one of those players via a trade and even if it were Wall, who is earning $19.1 million this season but will have a four-year supermax contract extension from next season earning him an average of $42 million annually, the Lakers could still potentially have the cap space to sign Durant.

On his clutch effort for the 15-9 Lakers, James said: "We were down eight and [the Spurs] have had our number up until this point". So I get why anyone wouldn't want to be in that environment because it's toxic. Especially when the attention is bullshit attention, fluff. It's not LeBron's fault at all; it's just the fact you have so many groupies in the media that love to hang on every word. It was just, 'When you have a player like LeBron you got to make it about LeBron, ' or something like that.
