Huawei Nova 4 with display hole shows up in hands-on images

Of course, the announcement can not be coincidental as both the companies were in the race to launch the first smartphone hole in display since November and it appears that Samsung was just waiting for Huawei to announce the launch date.

The Nova series is quite popular but Huawei's big change might make it even more attractive. So far there are no details on the specs and camera setup.

Anyway, the Huawei nova 4 is expected to come with the flagship Kirin 980 chipset. Apart from the release date, not much is known about the devices.

The view of the rear of the device demonstrates, or rather doesn't show, a fingerprint sensor, and neither does the front. It will have a brand new look, different from all the other bezel-less smartphones on the market.

The Huawei Nova 4 has an edge to edge display but with a noticeable chin at the bottom.

The notch has gone from uncommon to common in just a few months. Both the companies will be battling it out to introduce their first smartphone with a unique design.

The notch has been a big topic since it was revealed that the iPhone X would feature one.

Citing sources familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reported here on Monday that Apple would wait until at least 2020 to release its first 5G iPhones.

Huawei has also put a teaser image.

Soon after Samsung announced the Infinity-O design, Huawei started teasing the Nova 4 with a similar design. According to MyDrivers, the upcoming device is expected to boast a screen-to-body ratio of over 90 percent.

The processor remains a question mark up to this point.

The folks at Patently Mobile spotted the patent, which was filed with the US Patent Office earlier this year, and hints at the possibility of Samsung using what it refers to as "force touch" technology in its smartphones, (which we already knew) but also smartwatches. I say near future because Huawei, Samsung and others are also said to be working on foldable phones, which could become a must buy for 2019.
