Studios has lined up "Celebrity Deathmatch" as its latest series revival.

Series creator Eric Fogel will executive produce alongside Cube, Jeff Kwatinetz of Cube Vision, and co-executive producer Ben Hurwitz. Ice Cube will also lend voice talent in a lead role, and more voice talent will be announced soon. The show returned for two seasons in 2006 and 2007.

The Celebrity Deathmatch reboot will be available as a weekly series in 2019, either for a yet-to-be-determined SVOD or network partner. This reportedly marks the first step in "reinventing" the franchise across games, consumer products and more.

MTV is partnering with Ice Cube and his production company Cube Vision to realize the series' return.

"Deathmatch was the meme before memes", said MTV, VH1, and CMT president Chris McCarthy in a statement (via Variety). "Deathmatch was the meme before memes", says McCarthy, continuing that the show "remains a hot topic on social media and will be a smart, amusing way to tackle the over-the-top rhetoric of today's pop culture where it belongs - in the wrestling ring".
