The Golden Globes-which honors both TV and film-will announce this year's nominees on Thursday, December 6th, in a special hosted by Danai Gurira and Terry Crews.

Canadian actress Sandra Oh and USA comedian Andy Samberg will co-host the 2019 Golden Globe Awards in January, organizers said in a statement on Wednesday.

"We are thrilled to have Sandra and Andy co-hosting the Golden Globes", said Mike Mahan, Executive Producer, and CEO, dick clark productions. "This innovative pairing sets the flawless tone for the most entertaining awards celebration of the year".

"Sandra and Andy are the ideal choices to host this world-class event", Paul Telegdy and George Cheeks, Co-Chairmen, NBC Entertainment said in a statement released by the Golden Globes. She will assist with the distributing of trophies during the 2019 Golden Globe Awards ceremony and work with a nonprofit organization to raise awareness for the cause of her choosing. Nominations for the awards will be announced on Thursday, and the ceremony will take place in Beverly Hills, Calif., on January 6. "It's sure to be another unforgettable fun-filled night".

Samberg is no stranger to NBC's airwaves, having been a mainstay on "Saturday Night Live" from 2005 to 2012.

Oh, meanwhile, now stars (and serves as co-executive producer) on BBC America's "Killing Eve", for which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Drama at this year's Emmys.

Oh is coming off a surprise hit in BBC America's "Killing Eve", for which she serves as executive producer and star. The Golden Globes led NBC to the nightlong win in total viewers despite National Football League playoff competition.

Added Mike Mahan, Executive Producer and CEO, dick clark productions. "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", on which he stars as Detective Jake Peralta, was canceled by Fox in May after five seasons.

The Golden Globes had aired without a host for decades until NBC in 2010 tapped Ricky Gervais for the job. NBC picked it up a few days later.
