2.0 enters Rs 500 crore club in worldwide box office collections

Though there is a significant dip in the collection, the film is still pulling in a lot of crowd to theatres. On Wednesday, the film raked in Rs 9.50 crore, which goosed up its total to Rs 132 crore in India. Maintains a super-strong hold on weekdays. The Hindi version that opened at Rs 20 crore showed a remarkable growth during the weekend with its Saturday and Sunday collections reaching Rs 24 crore and Rs 33.25 crore, respectively.

The film, which features Rajinikanth in three different "avatars", also stars Akshay Kumar, Amy Jackson, Adil Hussain and Sudhanshu Pandey.

Co-distributor Karan Johar shared his excitement and tweeted, "CREATING HISTORY!"

A box office PHENOMENA! Now, trade analyst has predicted that the film would have crossed the Rs 500-crore mark.

Robot 2.0 is directed by Shankar and bankrolled by Lyca Productions. The film is one of the most expensive Indian film which also is a standalone sequel to 2010's Enthiran.

Superstar Rajinikanth's 2.0, which has set the cost registers ringing all over, is gearing up for a major China release across 56,000 screens, according to its makers.
