More information about the Nokia 8.1 is revealed

The Nokia 8.1 will be available globally in mid-December at a price of €400.

When it comes to the selfie camera, it is seen to have AI capabilities for better-looking portrait photos.

The Nokia 8.1 is an excellent mid-range smartphone from the Finnish company as it sports Nokia' signature design and capable hardware. The front of the Nokia 8.1 houses the display notch on the top along with "Nokia" branding at the bottom. Like Nokia's recent launches such as the Nokia 6.1 Plus and Nokia 7.1, the Nokia 8.1 also features a glass back with metal frame running all around. Also, the bokeh blur is listed as one of the camera features.

The Nokia 8.1, a Dual-SIM (GSM and GSM) phone, will feature a premium glass design and will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage.

The device won't be using the latest flagship processor from Qualcomm, but rather Snapdragon 710 which is made in the 14nm process and has 8 cores that can be clocked up to 2.2 gigahertz.

In the camera department, the Nokia 7.1 features a dual-rear camera setup with a primary 12MP sensor paired with a 5MP depth unit. There is Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) as well. The camera app also comes with AI scene recognition modes baked into it.

As noted, the Nokia 8.1 is the company's first smartphone to come with Android 9 Pie out of the box. This means that the phone will receive software and security updates much faster than other non-Android One devices. Connectivity options are said to include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB Type-C, FM, 3G and 4G. Most of the phones from HMD Global, fall under the mid-range segment and that's where it is most comfortable. It also has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, there's a 3500mAh battery inside the handset which supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

Nokia 8.1 specifications: The Nokia 8.1 comes with a 6.18-inch PureDisplay screen with Full HD+ resolution and 18:7:9 aspect ratio. The new Nokia 7.1 is yet another example and is now available for pre-order online. And, it is alleged to be launched in the global markets with the moniker Nokia 8.1.
