Google Photos for iOS Now Supports Portrait Depth Effect Editing

You can try out both new features right now by simply updating Google Photos to the latest version on your iOS device.

Unfortunately, that same feature isn't available on the older iPhone models, including the iPhone X. At least, not by way of Apple, anyway. Depth editing is actually a fairly recent feature for iPhones, and is only available on iPhone X and above.

Google announced an update to its Photos app for iOS on Monday. Depth Control allows you to change the background blur of a photo while you're snapping a pic or after.

Starting today, iPhone and iPad users can edit their favourite portrait images using Google Photos, and can easily adjust the blur or even change the focus area in those photos (via The Verge). If you don't already have Google Photos installed, you can find a link to download and install the app below. You will get the edit slider when you hit the edit button again situated beneath the light and color bars. There will be more to the story, so be sure to stay tuned in for more details. What are your thoughts on the new Google Photos update for iOS?
