As all the previous releases of Aamir Khan did wonders at the box office and considering the fact that director Vijay Krishna Acharya and Aamir Khan Collaboration in Dhoom 3 proved to be a tremendous profitable, exhibitors were expecting same kind of returns with Thugs.

Thugs of Hindostan, without an ounce of doubt, has turned out to be one of the biggest box-office disasters that the Hindi film industry has seen in the past one decade. The film that boasts of a huge starcast including Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh collected just around Rs 2.25 crore on its second Sunday.

Given the pre-release buzz and scale of the movie, Thugs Of Hindostan was touted to set new benchmarks at the box office and well, it did took the start on a similar note as it became the highest opener by collecting 50 crores (Hindi Version). However, the collections of the film fell to nearly half on day, at around Rs 28 crore, as reviews started coming in.

Thugs of Hindostan has now completed its second weekend with extremely low numbers. The action adventure fantasy film, which had got 5000 screens in its first week has now only 1800 screens due to its poor box office performance.

Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan's ambitious Thugs Of Hindostan has made over Rs 5 crore in its second weekend, tweeted trade analyst Taran Adarsh. The film had earned Rs 50 crore on its opening day, but the earnings slipped second day onwards after reviewers trashed the film. The film has only reported $7.8 million across the world in its first week including $1.76 million in the United States and Canada, 2.72 million in the UAE and GCC, $810,000 in the United Kingdom and $2.51 million from the rest of the world. But the film has proven to be a colossal disappointment as far as theatrical business is concerned.
