Lovren spoke about Ramos earlier this month in an interview where he claimed the Spain global makes a lot of mistakes, in the latest of a number of incidents of bad feeling between Liverpool players and Ramos.

Liverpool centre-back Virgil van Dijk has conceded that he is not a big fan of the style of defending employed by Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos.

The Dutchman's Reds' teammate Dejan Lovren has had an extremely public dispute with Ramos lately, and Van Dijk himself has issued something of a well-mannered criticism of the Real Madrid star's game.

The Liverpool defender told Dutch daily De Telegraaf: "Ramos is not the best".

The Dutch captain plays alongside Lovren for Liverpool (when Gamez isn't playing) and has come out in support of the Croat's comments, claiming that Ramos is "not his type of defender". "He's an excellent defender, he's young and yet he's won a lot".

"I try to avoid the kind of situations in which he excels and I don't even try to make sliding tackles".

"Bloody hell, it's all been blown out of all proportion", Ramos said, when asked about the incidents in June. "I don't know if these things are said out of frustration or for other reasons. I don't want to talk publicly about this".

Lovren and Liverpool were furious with Ramos for his role in Mohamed Salah's game-ending shoulder injury and the concussion suffered by goalkeeper Loris Karius. Buddy! They are a bunch of pussies.

He then alluded to an aerial clash with Ramos saying he "elbowed him good".

"Only this side is worthy [pointing to the Croatia flag on his shirt]".

The two nations have an increasingly intense rivalry after Croatia beat the Three Lions in the World Cup semi-final, but Kane insists England will not get caught up in the occasion.
