Typically, these updates include new features, visual improvements, and significant changes to improve the overall experience and security. This time, the company is taking a more cautious approach, gradually making it available for devices only after checking for possible compatibility problems and other issues.

In addition, feature updates are bigger in size than quality updates. And if I understand the platform correctly, that means that the 64-bit version of a given app will be what users get automatically when they download them from the Store. Or even close to 4GB for the 64-bit version or 3GB for the 32-bit version when using an installation media. "If we detect that your device may have an issue, such as an application incompatibility, we will not install the update until that issue is resolved, even if you 'Check for updates, ' so you avoid encountering any known problems". Therefore a complete reinstallation of Windows 10 is required. This also means it'll take longer to apply, and you're more likely to run into problems than when installing a quality update.

The Arm64 apps are designed for the Windows 10 on Arm convertibles like the new Lenovo Yoga C630 WOS and Samsung's Galaxy Book2. The update will also bring a new feature that will apparently prevent Windows Update from randomly rebooting a computer when it is least convenient. But you may have to wait awhile to get it.

If you are ready for the update, you can check it out by either going into the settings or by checking Microsoft's Update Center.

It has been quite a journey for the latest edition of Windows 10, as version 1809 just can't keep itself away from problems.

But they also have some limitations. Per the support document, the ads were visible on Windows Home and Windows Pro but not Windows Enterprise or Windows EDU. Are you affected by these latest glitches?
