The guitarist collapsed in his dressing room after performing with Billy Joel at Madison Square Garden in NY on Saturday night, and paramedics, who spent over 30 minutes with the 68-year-old, had to put a trachea down his throat to clear the air path before transporting him to a nearby hospital.

Perry, 68, was rushed to the hospital after his Madison Square Garden performance because he reportedly started gasping for air in his dressing room.

The Aerosmith guitarist took to Twitter on Tuesday morning to assure fans that he is on the road to recovery since the troubling incident. He was treated by paramedics who gave him oxygen before taking him to hospital.

Joe Perry, the guitar maestro for Aerosmith, said this afternoon he's "doing well" after a health scare this week.

The rocker fell ill after joining Joel onstage for a rendition of Aerosmith's Walk This Way at the gig in Madison Square Garden in NY.

In 2016, Perry's other band, The Hollywood Vampires, were forced to play several shows without him after he had become ill while performing at the Ford Amphitheater in Brooklyn's Coney Island.
