Former first lady Michelle Obama says in her new book that she can not forgive President Donald Trump for publicizing a conspiracy theory about her husband that she says put her family in danger.

"The whole thing was insane and mean-spirited, of course, its underlying bigotry and xenophobia hardly concealed", reads an excerpt, according to the report. What if someone with an unstable mind loaded a gun and drove to Washington?

"Donald Trump, with his loud and reckless innuendos, was putting my family's safety at risk", she added.

In her new book "Becoming", which is due out next week, Obama calls Trump a "misogynist" who used body language to "stalk" Hillary Clinton during a 2016 presidential debate. "What is going on in our heads where we let that happen, you know?" she said.

She tried to "block it out", the AP reported.

The book, which is set to release on November 13, details the her early life in Chicago all the way through to her time as First Lady, and includes her feelings of shock and disbelief following Trump's election in 2016.

The book also sees her take aim at Donald Trump, denouncing him for the infamous Access Hollywood tape, where he can be heard talking about grabbing women by their vagina. She writes of Trump following Clinton around the stage, standing nearby and "trying to diminish her presence".
