Taron Egerton Says He's Not Returning For Next Kingsman Film

Egerton originated the role of Gary "Eggsy" Unwin in the first movie, Kingsman: The Secret Service, in 2014 and reprised the role a year ago for Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Movies UK ahead of his new film, Robin Hood, Egerton was asked about the third Kingsman movie, which was already reported to be a prequel to the first two. Despite this, the actor hasn't ruled out appearing in another installment down the line.

It was also a bit confusing, since Egerton noted the news doesn't mean he's completely done with the franchise. In June, Vaughn told Empire his plan was to shoot The Great Game and Kingsman 3 back-to-back. We're very much still in business together, it's just that his next journey in that universe doesn't involve me.

With that in mind, Egerton saying it "doesn't mean I won't be in Kingsman ever again" actually starts to make sense.

Egerton says that he has chatted with Vaughn about the plot of the third movie and is impressed with what he's heard.

"His idea for the new one is incredibly exciting", Egerton added. "I'm sad that I won't be on that journey with him but it's not the last you've seen of Eggsy".

The movie is tipped to introduce a couple of new characters - a teen called Conrad and an older man, who is rumoured to be played by Ralph Fiennes. Of course, it doesn't matter what we think - so far, this franchise has generated roughly $800M worldwide, so we're getting more Kingsman whether we like it or not - but we are curious where the BMD readership stands on this series.

So Eggsy isn't in the next film quite simply because he won't have been born yet when it takes place. Egerton has exploded onto the scene since the first Kingsman film was released, and he's nabbed a few major roles as of late.

Taron Egerton's decision to join Instagram was met with overwhelming joy from fans who bombarded him with comments such as "finally", "yas" and "GUESS WHO MADE AN INSTA". Let us know your thoughts down below!
