It was initially believed that Lesnar was looking for an exit route from the WWE but Reigns' current inability to compete, coupled with the new lucrative Saudi Arabia options, resulted in Lesnar receiving a significant offer to continue featuring for Mr McMahon as his top singles champion, according to a report from MMA Fighting's well-connected Dave Meltzer.

Though Baron Corbin's pre-match ambush and multiple F5 kickouts kept him protected, it was ostensibly a squash.

Where things get really interesting is that, in recent months, Lesnar has been open about his desire to return to UFC.

Lesnar was originally supposed to cut ties with WWE following Crown Jewel, but the company contacted him ahead of the show and he signed a new deal on October 18th, four days before it was revealed that Roman Reigns was struggling with leukemia.

Mike Johnson spoke on PW Insider Elite to detail what he had heard from sources backstage regarding Strowman's general behaviour and conduct.

Lesnar has reportedly agreed to a new WWE deal in the wake of the very bad news of Roman Reigns' battle with leukaemia as the professional wrestling organisation looks to secure guaranteed pay-per-view success with arguably their most popular superstar. There's no word yet on who they might have Lesnar feud with but it sounds like he won't be wrestling Strowman at the biggest show of the year. He has a reputation at times for leaving a little early and sometimes he makes mistakes in terms of etiquette in the backstage in the locker room. "Sometimes, as one person put it, he's his own worst enemy and his worst advocate". A shame, but entirely believable. Though his relegation isn't necessarily permanent, it's clear that he's now being cycled out of the spotlight in favour of 'The Beast Incarnate'.
