Insiders at the company say that the issue has been on-going for two days and the company may have to release an update to Windows 10 to fix the issue.

While there's still no sign of a re-release for the botched Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft is rolling out new builds for the feature update that follows it, codenamed 19H1. But don't panic, your license is still good.

There is an ongoing issue about Windows 10 suddenly shown as deactivated. There's also the usual grab bag of bug fixes, performance improvements, and known issues. This happens in Japan, Korea, American and many other countries.I am very sorry to inform you that there is a temporary issue with Microsoft's activation server at the moment and some customers might experience this issue where Windows is displayed as not activated. Fixed an issue where Settings would crash if you were typing in the search box with the embedded handwriting panel and went to switch languages within the panel. And for some users, that's all it takes to get the license squared away.

Feedback from Reddit seems to indicate that the issue is largely affecting users that upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from a Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 8.1 Pro installation as part of the free upgrade program years ago. But the release of a standalone app makes it possible to add the virtual brain to a much larger breadth of Windows PCs.
