Virat Kohli lashes out at fan

The video, available on Kohli's recently-launched app, shows him expressing his disapproval after a fan called him an "over-rated batsman" and that he prefers watching English and Australian batsmen instead.

The right-handed batsman was responding to mean Tweets by cricket fans. Why are you living in our country and loving other countries?

In response, Virat said, "Okay, I don't think you should live in India then... you should go and live somewhere else no". He added that the fan should get his "priorities straight".

Known for his aggressive on-field attitude, Indian skipper Virat Kohli has now caught the Twitterati's ire for asserting those who love foreign cricketers more than Indian ones should leave the country.

Kohli has been rested for India's ongoing T20I series against West Indies, which they have already sealed 2-0 with one game to play.

"I think this has to do with respecting cricketing excellence without any thoughts about geographical or political boundaries", he continued. "Yes, I can like and endorse worldwide brands because I am getting money for it".

Some Twitter users have also picked out his self-introductory video during the 2008 U-19 World Cup, where he was seen mentioning former South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs as his favourite cricketer.

"I understand and believe that this time Virat Kohli and company will beat Australia at their home, which is very important for India", Ganguly was quoted as saying in India Today. "Just like he violated BCCI's contract with Nike when travelling to England to support Puma", a BCCI official said. Not long ago, Kohli became the fastest to 10,000 runs in ODI cricket and also became the first Indian to slam three consecutive centuries in ODI cricket, which is a testament of the surreal form he is in.
