As part of its quarter two fiscal results, Take-Two mentions that Red Dead Redemption 2 has sold-in more units in its first eight days than the original Red Dead Redemption sold in its first eight years. While we knew that early sales of the game were doing incredibly well after it made $725 million in its opening weekend, these numbers are perhaps even more staggering that anyone expected.

News about that came out of Take-Two's financial report too, with CEO Strauss Zelnick (chairman of the board at CBS, CNET's parent company) saying the online beta would launch at some point near the end of November.

Red Dead Redemption 2 released to overwhelming critical praise, becoming one of the highest rated games of this entire generation. As Take-Two points out in its report, Red Dead Redemption 2 has received numerous flawless, or near-perfect review scores from many games media outlets, including the likes of IGN, GameSpot, and Game Informer.

Take-Two Interactive released its financials for the second quarter ended September 30, reporting an 11 percent increase in revenue to $492.7 million thanks to successful sales of National Basketball Association 2K19. "Looking ahead, we have a strong development pipeline across our labels and are exceedingly well positioned for long-term growth and margin expansion".

Now, these things aren't major detractors from Red Dead Redemption 2, but honestly adding more fast travel options in wouldn't have hurt the immersion. It'll be interesting to see how the remainder of the year plays out, but this it seems like Red Dead might just be unstoppable this year.
