Prince Charles, Duchess Of Cornwall Arrive In Nigeria

As he prepares to welcome his fourth grandchild, Prince Charles is opening up about his deep concerns about the "damaged and destroyed world" the next generation of royals may grow up in. I'm not that stupid.

Applauded by some for his dedication and campaigning spirit, he has been criticised by others for trying to influence government policy. But that's how he gets things done, he's driven by this, this passion inside him to really help. "You don't say. But I always wonder what meddling is, I mean I always thought it was motivating".

The BBC has been given exclusive access over the last 12 months to film Prince Charles, who turns 70 on 14 November.

The programme also features interviews with those closest to the Prince.

Kola Ologbondiyan, national publicity secretary of the PDP, called on the prince of Wales to prevail on the president "on the continued violation of human rights, siege on democratic institutions, political intolerance and stifling of opposition and free speech in the country under his administration".

Prince Charles was, of course, talking about Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan's impending joy due in the Northern Hemisphere Spring next year. "I was very grateful for him to be able to do that".

"Doria's quiet dignity and grace at the royal wedding has earned her enormous respect from Meghan's new in-laws", the source told ET, adding that Harry is "enormously fond" of his mother-in-law. "But afterwards watching it on the television, I think it was a lovely gesture".

When it became clear that Meghan wouldn't have her reclusive father to support her, Harry went to his, according to the Daily Mail.

Asked whether his public campaigning will continue, he said: "No, it won't".

In the documentary, the Duke of Cambridge said he would like his father to spend more time with his grandchildren - Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
