There, she develops a bond with biologist Alec Holland - who, we now know, will be played by Bean (It: Chapter Two).

You can't exactly make a Swamp Thing television show without casting someone to actually play Swamp Thing.

Fans familiar with DC's comics will recall that after the fateful accident that transfers Holland's consciousness into a mystical swamp after he's murdered, he no longer really presents himself in human form all that often, instead favouring to pull together plant life to form a kind of organic golem. In the last few days they have added Will Patton who will play Avery Sunderland, Virgina Madsen as Maria Sunderland and Jeryl Prescott as Madame Xanadu. It is produced by Atomic Monster is association with Warner Bros.

Also, Swamp Thing has cast Derek Mears to play the creature version of Swamp Thing after his transformation. When Holland discovers that a freaky local illness is connected to his research in the swamp, he comes into conflict with dark forces. "Holland's discovery leads him into conflict with dark forces, from which he emerges as the elemental hero known as Swamp Thing". "Happy to finally share". "Her poised existence is shaken further when the return of Abby Arcane reawakens a deep grief over the loss of Maria's daughter, Shawna, drawing her into the dark supernatural mysteries emerging from the swamp", Deadline notes.

The debut episode of the series - which will be featured on DC Universe's streaming service - will be directed by Len Wiseman.

The storyline of the show is centered in the small town of Marais, Louisiana and center around a woman named Abby Arcane (Crystal Reed), who finds out about the secrets of the swamp.
