Nokia 9 PureView with five rear cameras could be real after all

What we're yet to see is a flagship product, but that wait might soon be drawing to a close.

The Nokia 9 PureView apparently leaves out the beloved headphone jack too, although shutterbugs might be willing to let that slide for the sake of possibly the world's most advanced photography setup.

The Nokia 9 is said to have a 5.9-inch QHD display with what seems to be an 18:9 aspect ratio. The latest development is essentially based on the early reports that claimed the presence of five rear-facing camera sensors on the new Nokia flagship. Overall dimensions are allegedly 155 x 75 x 7.9 mm, which will naturally make this significantly taller, as well as slightly wider and thicker than the 5.5-inch Nokia 8 Sirocco. Above the screen, there's a single front camera and two sensors. This pretty much confirms previous rumours that the smartphone will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, a feature we've most recently seen on the OnePlus 6T (review). Face unlock is also likely to be supported.

It's the first Nokia device to hit our shores to sport a notch - a design feature that has now become ubiquitous in the smartphone landscape.

Numerous elements, including the five-lens camera on the rear, have been spotted in previous leaked images but there were also several details released with the images. A USB Type-C can also be seen at the bottom. The power button and volume rocker are on the right, while the ejectable SIM card tray has been moved to the top. A secondary microphone is integrated into the antenna band on the top-edge, and there's also a third microphone on the back.

Other reported specs for the Nokia 9 include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a large 4,150 mAh battery.

A couple of months ago, we saw some supposed leaked images of a Nokia phone with five cameras on the back.
