Netflix's royal drama is casting "Call the Midwife" star Emerald Fennell as the young Camilla Shand, later Camilla Parker Bowles, later Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall (and eventually, Camilla the Princess Consort). Later, Charles, who will be played by Josh O'Connor in the new season, had an affair with Camilla and married her after Charles and Diana divorced. Emerald Fennell is a terrific actress, and we know she's going to bring something truly special to the show and in her portrayal of Camilla Parker Bowles.

"I absolutely love Camilla", Fennell continued adding, she was "very grateful that my teenage years have well prepared me for playing a chain-smoking serial snogger with a pudding bowl haircut".

Variety has learned that Emerald Fennell will join "The Crown" Season 3 at Netflix. The Crown's official Twitter account announced the news, and we have shared that tweet below!

The tree-backed scene appears to have a major part to play in a future episode of The Crown, with actors Marion Bailey and Charles Dance (who play the Queen Mother and Lord Mountbatten on the show) also spotted on the same set watching the polo match in character. Camilla and Charles tied the knot in 2005. They became lovers but the relationship abruptly ended in 1973 when the prince had to leave for the Royal Navy. Olivia Colman and Tobias Menzies would take the roles of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip to replace Claire Foy and Matt Smith until Season 4. According to a report from TV Guide, the new season focuses on the years 1964-1976.

People reported that Erin Doherty would play the role of Princess Anne in "The Crown" Season 3 after Lyla Barrett-Rye.

The next two seasons of The Crown will look quite different from the first two as the series moves forward in its timeline.
