He said: "They wanted to intimidate us".

Giving an indication to this on Saturday, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, a close ally of Kanu, told Sunday Tribune that the IPOB leader had made a decision to pitch tent with other Nigerians who are rooting for President Muhammadu Buhari, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to be voted out in next year's elections. No mortal flesh can kill me.

"I said it in 2015 that I would go back to that very country and I returned. Of course, they have never been violent; I don't want them to take measures that the python dancers will see reasons to pounce on them..."

"They have failed and they will continue to fail". They were afraid they would be disgraced before the world. I shall not be honouring the Court. They made a decision to eliminate me instead.

But he vowed to return to his homeland and called on his followers to boycott upcoming elections in Nigeria. "I pity those that died and those that are still going to die for this man".

"There was no date for a referendum; there was nothing tangible at all about devolution".

"Going forward, there must be guarantee from the global community so that this case can proceed and I will prove once and for all that there is something fundamentally wrong with the brains of those that rule Nigeria", he said.

"I make bold to say that my forced unavailability deserves an evidentiary hearing in a competent court of law; not in a Kangaroo court where all the details will be ventilated, to determine the legal impact of that very attack on my ability to make myself available to the court as required". Binta Nyanko court fail to ask Nigerian Army why they invaded my home.

In a broadcast via Radio Biafra, Kanu boasted that the Nigerian court lacks the capacity to try him.

"I am not a Nigerian". It shall be known as Biafra. IPOB will not participate in any election and that position will never change.

In the tweet, Fani-Kayode said he was delighted at the fact that Kanu is still alive and well.

"If he said something complementary about me in his broadcast as you have informed me, that is good".

Reacting to the development, however, apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, expressed delight that Kanu was alive and enjoying his freedom, and warned members of the group to remain calm and peaceful.

"I want to send my solidarity to @GovAyoFayose and assure him that Biafra will stand by him in this hour of need, we will have a special place for him in Biafra".
