National Football League trade rumors: Browns sending Carlos Hyde to Jaguars

The Cleveland Browns have reportedly traded running back Carlos Hyde to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a fifth round pick. In addition to their own picks in the first six rounds, the Browns acquired a third-rounder from New England, Jacksonville's fifth-rounder, another fifth-rounder from New England and a seventh-rounder from Jacksonville.

This was always going to be an experimental year for the Browns, which is the best way to explain why the Browns traded their starting running back Friday afternoon. Yeldon, meanwhile, is dealing with foot and ankle injuries.

The 28-year-old Hyde was off to an impressive start in Cleveland.

It's a bold move for the Browns who spent an early second-round pick on former Georgia star running back Nick Chubb.

The first major trade of the National Football League season just happened.

The trade says two things: the Browns are comfortable rolling with Nick Chubb and Duke Johnson the team's tailbacks and the Jaguars aren't confident in the health of Leonard Fournette.

Following Cleveland's 38-14 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, head coach Hue Jackson admitted they needed to get Chubb the ball more.

"We need to get him more chances", Jackson said. Duke has 111 yards off just 19 carries this season, but is also an accomplished young lady catcher. That's what you were seeing yesterday.
